MAUI BEACHES

photos by Martin Wyand

Typically you do not have to pay a site fee to use a public beach location, but we do need to obtain a permit.  Here are some suggested public beach sites.  Please keep in mind that when selecting a public beach park as your wedding location, there will not be a back up in the event of rain, strong winds, extreme heat, etc.  Also note that other people will be appreciating the beach park, as well.

In addition to the information below, you may wish to visit these  websites about Maui beaches:

HONOKOWAI BEACH (West side) is a west side beach across the street from a chapel. It has parking, foliage, and a beautiful beach. Great place for sunset photos, too!

NAPILI  BEACH (West side)) is a beautiful beach located off of a narrow street and pathway.  Excellent location for getting married on the beach or the rocks.

North Black Rock (West side) is next to the Sheraton on Kaanapali Beach.

SOUTH MALUAKA BEACH (South side)) is next to the Maui Prince hotel in Makena. This beautiful and spacious park is surrounded by a variety of trees, plants and flowers. A white sand beach awaits you.

KAMAOLE BEACH PARK   (South side)) A beautiful beach park located in Kihei. There are three parts to this beach.

KAHEKILI BEACH PARK  (West side) This location is just next to Kaanapali Beach.  It shares the same highway turnoff as the Kaanapali Villas..  It offers a great pavilion for shelter.  Although BBQ's are on the grounds, we suggest you use your own, or bring food that doesn't require grilling.  The beachfront lawn makes it possible to have a beach wedding without having to be in the sand. Pretty sunsets can be viewed from this beach park.  Free.

LANIUPOKO BEACH (West side) is located about 1/2 mile from Lahaina. It is a beautiful beach park with palm trees, lush green grass, picnic and BBQ facilities, and restrooms.  We suggest either bringing your own BBQ's or foods that don't require grilling.

KAHAMANINI BEACH/WAILEA BEACH (South side) is located behind the Grand Wailea and Four Seasons resorts.

MAKENA COVE (South side) is located past Big Beach in Makena.. This intimate white sand beach is surrounded by lava rock on either side. Amazing sunsets and beautiful views can be seen from this beach. Parking is a challenge.

MAKENA BEACH (South side is located past the Maui Prince Hotel along Makena Ala Nui Road. This is a beautiful location, but it closes in the early evening. Parking can be a challenge.

LITTLE BEACH (South side) is just past Big Beach. If you park at Big Beach you can walk to Little Beach. This is a beautiful location, but don't be surprised if you see some "unclothed" beach-goers.
